Not sure which make-up style on your big day?
My advice is don’t stray too far from your everyday makeup. Sure....you need to be a little more glamorous for the photos, but you also want to look and feel like yourself. Consider just playing up one feature such as eyes or lips.
Wedding make-up in the past few years has been played up with the intense tutorials and instagram posts, i have seen intense contouring and high definition eye work with epic lashes to match, yet... post Covid-19 lockdowns, the return of simple understated and fresh is making a welcomed return.
The same can be said for hair styles. relaxed waves and untextured loose curls are so on trend right now in the bridal scene. However, a little food for thought, if natural is what you are after you will need to keep in mind that as you will be captured in literally hundreds of photographs you do need your foundation to be layered a little thicker than usual and you will need to top up a gloss and rosy cheeks to ensure the natural blushing bride look lasts for hours.
My personal favorite for wedding make-up applications is having natural colored lips and cheeks, with a subtle smokey eye. Remember also that when I say smoky that doesn't mean grey or black. You may have a subtle smokey eye with shades of taupe, rust or beachy browns. Remember to always intensify the lash line with several well combed coats of mascara and either strip or individual lashes to frame the eye.
For fair skinned brides consider using a brown eye liners for your eyes, both top and bottom lash lines as desired.
In order to achieve a flawless application, start preparing your skin months before the wedding day. Carefully examine your diet. How much water you are drinking. And what your go to Zahra for snacking both good and bad your skin will be an example but I wish you were feeding it, and that in itself my friends is a whole different blog post.
It is certainly worth considering going to a spa and getting a few facial treatments. Remember at home to regularly exfoliate, use SPF during the day and and using lots of moisturizer at night. No matter how good your make-up is, if your skin isn’t smooth and hydrated, you will not achieve the flawless final look.
